Kids audition info!

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is the golden ticket to a crowd-pleasing, outrageous ensemble musical with plenty of delicious roles. In this version recently released, which is in fact based on the Broadway version, Charlie Bucket is the only child role, with all other “Kids’ roles” roles being played by adults.


Wannabe Charlie Buckets with singing, dancing and acting ability are in with the chance of performing on The Churchill Theatre in November, when a new production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will be performed.

WWOS Musical Theatre are set to perform this Broadway and West End musical and are on the lookout for 1 boy and 1 girl, who will take on the role on alternate performances across a total of six shows.

Director Kevin Gauntlett said: “This is a very exciting and rare opportunity for a couple of rising stars in the local area to get a real footing and experience in musical theatre and we’d like to see as many potential future stars of the stage apply as are confident.”

Those interested in the open call must be of 'playing age' 11 to 12 years old and be able to sing, dance and act to a high standard. Auditionees should be under 5 Feet, no broken voices and over 9 years old at the date of the performance. Open auditions are due to be held on 21st July 2024 from 2-5pm.  Children should be dropped at Theatre 62 (Wickham Theatre Centre, Corkscrew Hill, West Wickham, BR4 9BA) no earlier than 2pm, parents/guardians are not required to stay as there will be chaperones present.  The children should bring water and a small snack (nothing with nuts please) as they will have a small break.

Rehearsals for Charlie and the Chocolate factory will take place on Monday evenings from 7pm, Sundays and Wednesday evenings closer to the show.  The show runs from 13th November-16th November with matinee performances on the Thursday and Saturday. There are also technical and dress rehearsals in the Churchill Theatre on Sunday 10th November, Monday 11th November and Tuesday 12th November

Parents or legal guardians of applicants are requested to register their attendance by completing the online form. Completion of the form confirms attendance on the 21st July, you will not receive a confirmation e-mail.
